1. Engineering Technician EDM-CNC Level 1

 

1.1. JOB REQUIREMENTS:     (What we are looking for)

  • Mechanical  Engineering Technology,  Mfg. Engineering Technology or Engineering Associates degree or 2nd year student
  • Very Good CAD skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Flexible with hours and sometimes Saturdays required.

 

1.2. THE ROLE OF THE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN EDM-CNC  (What you will do)

  • To utilize Engineering principles and skills to set-up, program and operate high technology CNC Machines and EDM machines and to constantly improve the processes of production and inspection in the manufacturing of precision components to customer specifications.
  • To utilize Engineering principles and skills to set-up, program and operate high technology CNC Machines and EDM machines and to constantly improve the processes of production and inspection in the manufacturing of precision components to customer specifications.
  • Continuously improve the manufacturing system thru well devised engineering-based processes that are created and enhanced with department team support and cooperation.
  • Inspect & report quality findings for in-process inspection of produced parts.
  • Provide quantitative feedback for all production parts and work.
  • Provide support and training to production associates within the various departments. 

 

1.3. THE TASKS & SKILLS OF ENGINEERING TECHNICIANS:    (What you will learn)

  • CAD /Solid-Works / Draft-Sight / Anvil
  • CAM Esprit programming - 2D (Wire EDM) & Mastercam Programming ( level 1)
  • Blueprint reading
  • GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) ability
  •  Mach Shop standards
  • ERP / MRP time and part accounting
  • WIP / FAI / Final Inspection plans
  • Understanding Extrusion tooling and other tools. 
  • Wire EDM Set up, Operation, Programming and Machine Maintenance
  • Sinker EDM Set up, Operation, Programming and Machine Maintenance.
  • CNC Mill Set up, Operation, Programming and Machine Maintenance.
  • CNC Lathe Set up, Operation, Programming and Machine Maintenance.
  • Understanding Material Certifications and handling material properly
  • Working with Solid-Works basic for interrogation of drawing features.
  • Understanding of basic Grinding machine operation
  • Fixture design (Single ops with simple geometry)
  • Maintain and use appropriate design documentation
  • G & M Code editing on controllers.
  • Understanding tool and die concepts
  • CMM & OGP Vision System Inspection operations
  • OGP Vision system Inspection Programming.
  • Use of other measuring tools.

 

2. Machinist: HAAS CNC Milling and/or Turning (Setup, Run)

  • Responsibilities include: setup, programming, editing and running Haas CNC milling and/or turning centers. 
  • Blueprint reading and computer skills required. 
  • First, second, third and weekend shift positions available.
